About…

I have spent more than 20 years working in mortgage capital markets, with responsibility across pipeline risk management, hedging, pricing, liquidity, secondary-market execution, investor strategy, and capital-markets operations.

Throughout my career, I have overseen mortgage pipelines ranging from approximately $1 billion to $2 billion and managed more than $100 billion in cumulative securities and hedge activity. My experience includes the global financial crisis, COVID-era volatility, major interest-rate shifts, merger integration, rapid production growth, and an FDIC-directed institutional wind-down.

I founded Regehr Capital Markets Advisory to provide mortgage lenders, financial institutions, technology companies, and executive teams with experienced support when they face a complex decision, an operational problem, a leadership gap, or a period of market disruption.

My approach is practical and grounded in operating experience. I focus on how pricing, hedging, liquidity, technology, controls, and execution work together—and where they stop working together. The objective is not to produce a generic consulting report. It is to identify the real issue, explain it clearly, and help the organization implement a workable solution.

Engagements may include focused advisory, operational assessments, interim or fractional leadership, mortgage-technology evaluation, and support during special situations.

I am also the author of Project Mortgage: The Life of a Mortgage — A First Principles Guide, which explains the mortgage system from origination through capital-markets execution using clear, practical language.
